Getting started is easy...

After activating service on a qualifying PureTalk plan, you can sign in to your Account Portal to add a Second Number to your line.

Step 1

Whether you’d like to buy a new eSIM-compatible phone or use your current one, we’ve got you covered.

For the Second Number to work, the primary SIM on your device must be configured as an eSIM. Functionality may be limited or unavailable if the primary SIM is not set up as an eSIM. For Android devices, an additional physical SIM may be required and provided to enable the Second Number to function simultaneously.

The phone also needs to meet the following requirements:

  • It must support Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS), and this feature should be turned on by default. Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS) is a technology that allows a phone to use two SIM cards simultaneously, but only one at a time.
  • Many modern smartphones support Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS). Here are some popular models that are compatible:

iPhone

  • iPhone XS and newer (iOS 12.1 and later)

Samsung

  • Samsung Galaxy S21 Series and newer
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Series and newer
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Series and newer

We currently only support Second Number on these Apple and Samsung devices.

If you do not have a compatible phone and would like to take advantage of our Second Number feature, you may purchase a compatible phone through your Account Portal as an Upgrade.

Step 2

Once you confirm you have a phone capable of using PureTalk’s Second Number feature, sign in to your Account Portal to add it.

Step 3

Once Second Number has been added to your line, it needs to be activated. Visit our Activation page to get started. You may also call Customer Support for assistance by dialing 611 from your PureTalk phone or by calling (877) 820-7873.

Once your second number is active, follow these steps to finish setup.

How to Set Up Your Second Number on iOS

Step 1: Label Your Phone Lines
  1. Once your second number is activated, you’ll be prompted on the screen to label each line to help you tell them apart. If you DO NOT get a prompt, navigate to “Settings” and select “Set up cellular service”.
  2. You will then be prompted to follow the same steps. Your current line is labeled "Primary" by default. Tap the label if you'd like to change it. Tap on your new number to give it a custom label that’s easy to remember.
  3. These labels will help you quickly identify which line you're using.
Step 2: Choose Your Default Line for Calls & Texts
Select which number you’d like to use by default when making phone calls or sending text messages.
Step 3: Set Up iMessage & FaceTime
Decide which number(s) you want to use with iMessage and FaceTime. You can enable one or both.
Step 4: Choose Your Data Line
Pick the line you'd like to use for cellular data. Select the primary PureTalk number for your plan since it is the one with data access.
