How to Set Up Your Second Number on iOS
Step 1: Label Your Phone Lines
- Once your second number is activated, you’ll be prompted on the screen to label each line to help you tell them apart. If you DO NOT get a prompt, navigate to “Settings” and select “Set up cellular service”.
- You will then be prompted to follow the same steps. Your current line is labeled "Primary" by default. Tap the label if you'd like to change it. Tap on your new number to give it a custom label that’s easy to remember.
- These labels will help you quickly identify which line you're using.
Step 2: Choose Your Default Line for Calls & Texts
Select which number you’d like to use by default when making phone calls or sending text messages.
Step 3: Set Up iMessage & FaceTime
Decide which number(s) you want to use with iMessage and FaceTime. You can enable one or both.
Step 4: Choose Your Data Line
Pick the line you'd like to use for cellular data. Select the primary PureTalk number for your plan since it is the one with data access.
Step 5: You're All Set!
Your second number is ready to use. Start calling, texting, and enjoying the flexibility of two lines on one device.
Helpful Tips
- When making a call, your iPhone will show which line is being used. Tap the number to switch lines if needed.
- Starting a new text? The "From" field shows the current number. Tap it to change lines before sending.
- You can assign a specific line to a contact. Just tap on the number shown above the contact’s name and select your preferred line.
- For incoming calls, look for the first letter of the line’s label — it tells you which number is being used.
